What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) — sometimes called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)—is an extra layer of security for your Axaipay Merchant Account.

Instead of relying solely on a password to sign in, 2FA requires two distinct proof points to confirm your identity:

1. Something you know: Your password.

2. Something you have: A temporary 6-digit code generated by an app on your smartphone or sent via SMS.

By requiring both, 2FA ensures that even if someone manages to steal or guess your password, they cannot access your Axaipay Dashboard, alter your Axaipay account settings, or process refunds without physical access to your mobile device.

How 2FA Works on Axaipay

1. Sign In: Enter your Axaipay Merchant ID and password as usual.

2. Verification Prompt: Axaipay prompts you for a 6-digit verification code.

3. App Check: Open your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) to grab the real-time code.

4. Access Granted: Type the code into Axaipay to access your account.

Why Passwords Alone Aren't Enough

Password leaks happen every day due to phishing emails, malware, or reused passwords across different websites. If an attacker gets your Axaipay password, a standard account offers no resistance.

Enabling 2FA locks the front door: a stolen password becomes useless on its own.
